David Wood filling post

Trine University has appointed David Wood dean of its School of Professional Studies (SPS), with branch campuses in Angola, Fort Wayne, Merrillville and South Bend/Mishawaka.

Wood’s responsibilities also include the Trine Virtual Campus, the online studies program for which he previously served as director. Eric Vitz has joined Trine as the new TVC director.

Wood brings over 20 years of experience in training and education with an emphasis on video conferencing and distance learning with the U.S. Army. He retired from the military in 2000, moving on to manage branch campuses for Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), establishing the Warsaw, Ind. campus and weekend college program. He then served as director of distance learning for IPFW before coming to Trine first as TVC director and now SPS dean. He is pursuing a doctorate in business administration at North Central University in Arizona.

“We will continue to provide affordable, convenient and high quality programs to the adult student and at the same time, look to expand degree and course offerings across the state,” Wood said. “There are tremendous needs out there right now, and we know we can help.”

For more information on adult programs and degrees, contact Wood at woodd@trine.edu, 260.665.4600, or visit www.trine.edu.
