Repeat event planned

Trine University’s first Women’s Visit Day Friday, Oct. 17 was a success, attracting around 100 prospective students and their guests to the campus to investigate joining the Trine community, said Trine visit coordinator Tyler Benner.

The visitors attended breakout sessions in Trine’s new student apartments, where representatives from academic, career services, financial aid, student life, and safety offices detailed their services to students. A panel by Trine students and alumnae provided a picture of university life and its preparation for career success.

The day included a chance to discuss Trine athletic possibilities with coaches over lunch in Whitney Commons. Campus tours centered upon student’s chosen schools of study acquainted them with the campus geography and amenities.

Trine’s Office of Admission treated guests to flavored coffees, hot chocolate and pastries during registration at Witmer Clubhouse, and provided dessert stations at session sites in the afternoon.

“I would like to thank everyone for their help with our first annual Women’s Visit Day,” Benner said. “We heard a lot of positive feedback, most notably about the breakout and academic sessions. I would definitely say that will be offered again next fall.”
