Trine fans to wear white

Why wait for winter for white-out conditions? Join Trine University students and fans in a “whiteout” Saturday, as the Thunder take on the Adrian College Bulldogs in a battle for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) conference football title Saturday at 1 p.m. in Adrian, Mich.

The Thunder will defend an 8-0 overall and 5-0 MIAA record. They are ranked fifth in the Midwest and 23rd nationally in NCAA Division III. Adrian is 7-1 overall and 4-0 MIAA.

Thunder coach Matt Land asks fans to join the Trine community in wearing top-to-toe white garments to the game Saturday to show support for the Thunder, who will be clad in their white traveling uniforms. The whiteout will also counterbalance the “black-out” planned by the Bulldog fan base.

A map and directions are posted at www.trine.edu/about_trine/maps_directions/  or local fans can caravan behind the Trine student fan bus leaving Hershey Hall’s west parking lot at 10:30 a.m.

To generate even more excitement, the Office of Student Life is hosting a banner contest at the campus. Banners will be displayed in the University Center mall Friday and then taken to the game for display at the Adrian field on Saturday. The Trine community also plans to wear white on Friday at the university to support the Thunder.
