Furth Center open house planned
Community can view plans
The community is invited to a pre-renovation open house at the former Angola Christian Church, now Trine University’s T. Furth Center for Performing Arts, on Sunday, March 15 from 3-5 p.m.
Plans and renderings of the future center will be available for viewing, and visitors can take in the ornate features of the beautiful, 99-year-old building. Various information stations will give community members locations in which to discuss the plans, ask questions, or offer suggestions.
A jazz combo will perform. Remarks by Trine University and local government officials will be followed by a brief Angola Community Theatre production.
Community members Theresa Hornbacher, John and Liat Peters, and Anne Watkins have played important roles in shaping the center’s plan. “This project further strengthens the bond between our community and campus,” said Trine Drama Club director Dr. Tim Hopp.
