Trine University will host the 49th annual Northeastern Indiana Tri-State Regional Science Fair on Saturday, March 21 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. in Hershey Hall.

This year’s fair will include over 300 projects by elementary and secondary students from five counties in northeast Indiana and Michigan. Students in grades 1-12 from DeKalb, Noble, LaGrange, and Steuben counties in Indiana, and St. Joseph County in Michigan have created the projects chosen for the fair.

Top projects may receive place awards and/or special awards from area and national organizations and governmental agencies. Five senior division projects and three junior division projects will be chosen to compete in the Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair, to be held in Indianapolis on April 4. Two senior division projects will be selected to advance to competition in the International Science and Engineering Fair in Reno, Nev.

Science Central in Fort Wayne will present a family fun festival, “Go Figure,” from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in Hershey Hall. The regional science fair will be open to the public from 1-4 p.m.
