Comedy coming to Wells Theater

Love and comedy will team up in the Trine University Drama Club spring production, “The Game of Love and Chance,” to be staged Thursday through Saturday, March 26-28 in Taylor Hall’s Wells Theater at 7:30 p.m.

The romantic comedy first opened in 18th century France, but the Steven Wadsworth adaptation is anything but dusty, said Trine Drama Club adviser Tim Hopp. “The play is a delightful slice of mistaken identities and the hapless machinations of people who can’t help falling in love,” he said.

The cast spotlights some familiar faces in seniors Jordan Rippy, Tiffany Monarch, Laura Hague, and Keith Gassman, who will take the stage with Dan Wiehe and Jay Reeves. Drama Club familiars Kevin Dahlstrom and Erik Evans will direct and manage the stage.

“The production is a joy,” Dahlstrom said. “I’ve been involved in Drama Club for a number of semesters, and I really like the community we enjoy at Trine, especially in the way we pull everything together for a play.”

Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.
