Tuesday will launch a series of panels in Fabiani Theatre. “Women in Communication” will feature Heather Herron of WANE-TV Fort Wayne, Lindsay Adams of Swick Broadcasting Video News, Amy Oberlin of the Herald-Republican newspaper, Karly Tierney, Herald-Republican photographer and Debbie Davis of the CBS-TV cooking program and blog “Dishing with Debbie,” as they lend their views and expertise to a discussion from 10-11:30 a.m.

From 1-2:30 p.m. a sports media and media relations panel made up of Elizabeth Conlisk of the Big Ten Network, Ross Kinsey of WANE-TV sports in Fort Wayne, Veronica Pinciotti of BCSN Regional Sports Net, Ken Fillmore, Herald-Republican sports editor, and Trent Lewis  of Steuben County’s 101 Lakes Network will discuss points germane to sports media.

The activity will move to the Trine softball field from 2:30-5:30 p.m. The Steuben County Humane Society will distribute Adopt-A-Pet program handouts, and donations of newspapers and pet food collected by the Trine Communication Department will be given to the organization. Tickets will be sold for prizes, with all proceeds from the event benefitting the Humane Society. Attendees will watch the Trine softball game against Albion College from 3-5:30 p.m.

On Thursday, the class will celebrate the completion of the inaugural event at a luncheon with Davis at 11:30 a.m. in the University Center’s Whitney Commons. The Office of Student Life, WEAX, and Bon Appetit collaborated with the students to bring the Communication Week events to the Trine and local communities.
