Remote Location on the Move

South Bend/Mishawaka moving to new facility

Trine South Bend/Mishawaka will have a new facility to go with its new name when fall classes begin Sept. 2.

Trine South Bend/Mishawaka, formerly Tri-State University's South Bend campus, is renovating new space in the Edison Lakes Parkway Corp. building in the heart of Mishawaka's business and retail district after vacating its downtown South Bend location in January. The new 7,800-square-foot facility is located at 4101 Edison Lakes Parkway, Suite 250, near the Indiana Toll Road (I-80/90) off Day Road.

The new site will contain five classrooms, a computer lab, student lounge, and small seminar room. "It will be beautiful. It will not only serve the adult evening students, but will be used to host business and organizational conferences," said Brad Grubb, Dean of the Trine University School of Professional Studies. Hotels, restaurants, and caterers in the area will support the use of the facility for conferences, he said.

Trine University South Bend/Mishawaka will continue to serve the needs of working adults by offering majors in health care management, criminal justice, psychology, emergency management, business administration, and management, with six points of entry throughout the academic year to accommodate busy schedules.

A partnership with Ivy Tech allows for the easy transfer of credits, with a tuition break for Ivy Tech students who qualify academically. Trine faculty members are practitioners who bring life experiences into the classroom. Bus services running to the site make access easy.

"It's an attractive and professional location," Grubb said. "It's safe, accessible, modern, and appealing."
