Free Webinar offered

"Green" design will be explored

Trine University’s Reiners Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering will sponsor a live American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) Webinar, “Introduction to Green Design,” on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. in Fabiani Theatre.

The Webinar will introduce the fundamentals of green design as scored by the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Environment and Energy Design (LEED). It will educate engineers, students, building designers and others concerned with incorporating green design into their practices. Business owners and facility managers will also learn how to better utilize operating resources.

It will cover the construction of new buildings, renovation of existing buildings, conceptualizing functions and features to determine design and materials, and simple day-to-day facility and business management.
