Tips from Other Parents

At Trine university we want what's best for your child. The best academics, amenities, athletics, and the most vibrant, safe, and fulfilling campus life. We recognize this as the Trine experience. But don't just take our word for it, read what parents of current students say about Trine University.

Hello President Brooks,

I wanted to take a moment and share with you some experiences my wife and I have had with Trine University.

My cousin, Ryan Rickaby, is a member of the varsity football team and we have had the pleasure of watching him play both at home and away.

When we attended the game against Alma College, we were impressed with the look of the campus, and how well it was maintained. We were equally as impressed by the people we met. Never before have we attended a college football game and been surrounded by such nice, Christianly people. When the refs would make a questionable call, there was no cussing, or boos from the Trine fans. Instead we heard several people say things like, "well, our team shouldn't have done that." It was like we were in another world, but it was a good thing.

The amount of support the community and families of the players show the football team is beautiful. At the game this past weekend against Adrian College, where my wife and I and Ryan are from, we heard a number of people on the Adrian side say how they thought there were more people from Trine at the game than from Adrian. It was a truly impressive site to see everyone in white, waving towels that someone was passing out for free to the crowd.

I didn't know a whole lot about Trine before Ryan started to attend there, but we are so pleased he is a part of such an outstanding university community. Being surrounded by such good Christian people while receiving an education will set him up for great success in life.

We also can't say enough about Coach Land. My grandparents had a chance to meet him before one of the games early in the season, and they said they were very impressed with him and were confident their grandson was in good hands. And now with an MIAA title, it just proves how great of a system he has.

I want to applaud you for running such a great university, and to let you know that there are many Trine fans in Adrian now, and we are spreading the word about what a great place it is.

Thank you for your time,

Chris Gautz

"I attended two Big Ten Universities. I don’t think my parents or I saw the president of either place during my entire university career. I have heard the President of Trine speak at the Parent’s Breakfast. We had an opportunity to ask him questions. I see him on campus when I am here. At a bigger university I would be just one more parent in a group of thousands of parents. Here at Trine, I am more than just another tuition check writer.”
