Program News

Growing Professional Need

Curriculum guidelines were developed from the national guidelines set by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the structural model of the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice of Trine University, research conducted by Trine University staff and interaction with the educational partners of the Public Safety Academy of Northeast Indiana.

The degree program is a career-oriented degree preparing students for areas of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery of intentional and/or natural disasters or emergencies. Students will acquire skills necessary for leadership in emergency management professions. They will acquire a wide range of knowledge within disaster and emergency situations. The program is designed for those interested in homeland security, community service positions and disaster relief.
