Engineering fraternity attends general convention

Recently, several active members as well as a few alumni of the Sigma Phi Delta Professional Engineering Fraternity attended the organization’s biannual International Convention.

The members joined 18 other active chapters as well as two potential chapters and a number of alumni in our nation’s capital for the 40th General Convention of Sigma Phi Delta.

Convention activities included speakers on risk management, interviewing, networking, and root-cause analysis as well as formal meetings and a grand banquet. Time was also made to appreciate the history and memorials surrounding the D.C. area including an “Engineering Quest” involving many sites important to the engineering profession.

The active brothers who attended were Casey O’Brien, David Norris, Jordan Khone, Brian Townsend, Daniel Mieth and Joe Jacobs. Alumni included Jonathan Eastham (2012), Scott Jackson (2011), Alix Minden (2001), Bill Warner (1961) and Donald Ellison (1948).
