Where′s Tim Raftery, 2010 Communication Major?

Tim Raftery, a 2010 communication graduate, has been working as a multimedia specialist for Indiana′s NewsCenter in Fort Wayne since commencement. He handles advertising, social media and web responsibilities at the news station.

Raftery sells advertising and sponsorships for two stations, as well as produces advertisements for the news station′s website. He also oversees the CW Fort Wayne Facebook page. He was one of the people who helped to organize the flash mob at the Trine football game on Oct. 30, 2010.

"My time at Tri–State (now Trine) was very beneficial for me. I was in the communication department and enjoyed learning under Michael McNamara and Don Jones, Ph.D.," Rafferty said. "Learning what I did while in their classes gave me the knowledge that I needed to succeed."

While on campus, Raftery played basketball for the Thunder.

"Being part of a team will give you plenty of ups and downs, but that is life," Raftery said. "Being a student–athlete under Head Coach Rob Harmon helped shape me to be the strong, young professional that I am today."

Raftery said he still keeps in touch with his teammates and will soon marry his Trine sweetheart, Sallie Richardson.
