Alum Tom Schlachter, ME '82, and his wife Margaret with their son and soon to be freshman at Trine, Paul.
Tom Schlacter, ME ′82, from Dallas, Texas, brought his son Paul to campus for Homecoming last fall. Paul really liked what he saw and decided then that he would follow in his dad′s path and attend Trine. They were on campus for SOAR—- Summer Orientation and Registration on Monday, June 21.
Margaret, Tom′s wife, had not been on campus before in the over twenty years that they have been married. She was very impressed by the facilities, personal attention they received, and overall experience. Tom and Margaret are excited that their son will be attending Trine in the fall. Paul will receive the Legacy Award Scholarship, $2,000 off from his tuition, since his dad is a grad.
Visitors are welcome anytime at Trine. Schedule your trip to campus today by clicking here.
Welcome to the fifth installment of our Tbolt trivia program. With each issue of the Tbolt, a trivia question about our University will be asked. In order to compete and win from our stack of different prizes, the only thing you have to do is reply to email@example.com with the subject line: Tbolt Trivia and submit your answer.
Thank you to all who took a stab at guessing our trivia question on who was the first University athlete to receive All–American honors. The correct answer is Greg Johnson ′78, who won this honor on his 800–meter run in the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in 1976. Although we did not have any correct answers, we did have some great submissions. Mel Budreau ′77 was the lucky winner of our drawing for a piece of Trine apparel! Congrats!
Let’s test your skills on our history timeline—In what year was WEAX, the campus student radio station, established?
If you know the answer to this trivia question, send it to us by July 10, 2010 (only one submission per participant), and you will be entered to win Trine gear.

All TSC/TSU/Trine alums have at least one thing in common. We all have fond memories of certain faculty members. Bonds and mentorships that last longer than the four years on campus are formed, and in many cases lifelong friendships. On our website we have a portion dedicated to our esteemed faculty. Check it out, maybe even drop your faculty member a line and get reacquainted by going to trine.edu/meet_faculty.
On this site you will find the hobbies and interests of our faculty that may not always be prevalent in the classrooms. We hope you like this exposé of our extremely talented and diverse faclty.
