2010 Men's Golf Fall Outlook
A strong spring campaign makes Trine Men’s Golf Coach Bill San Giacomo very optimistic for the upcoming fall season.
The program is ever so close to making the next step, a very big next step.
“We should be competitive in the MIAA and contend for our first ever conference title,” San Giacomo said, “It’s really just a matter of finally getting over that hump and being consistent. We have to avoid a bad day or two on the course. That’s how close we’ve been and how tough the competition we face is.”
In the spring, Trine notched four consecutive championships and boasted four medalists and placed third in the prestigious Ohio Wesleyan Invitational, just behind perennial NCAA Division III powers Ohio Wesleyan and Otterbein.
The squad has solid leadership from veterans
Terence
Clingaman (Stryker, Ohio/Stryker) and Jason Paff (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills). A strong cast of underclassmen including Max Neuhans (Nashville, Ind./Brown County), Matt Warrener (Kendallville, Ind./East Noble), and Jake Williams (Fosteria, Ohio/St. Wendelin) coupled with a very strong class of freshman recruits will make big contributions.
