ROYAL OAK, Mich. - The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Trine University Senior Amber Crosby the 2009 winner of the Karen Kaine Award.
The annual award honors a senior women’s tennis player for their academic achievement.Crosby is an accounting major from Holly High School in Holly, Michigan. Crosby has a 3.45 grade point average and has played number one singles for the Thunder for two seasons.
Crosby was also a named the outstanding senior major for the Ketner School of Business.
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The host Belles made light work of Trine claiming the 9-0 win. Trine hosts Adrian Wednesday at 3 p.m.
In what looked to be a clean sweep over Trine, Jennifer Wall and Amber Crosby spoiled Olivet’s day by winning their doubles match. The win over Olivet marks their 3rd doubles victory of the season.
Trine took their lumps against Manchester, suffering a clean sweep 9-0
The Lady Thunder took one on the chin, losing 9-0 to Albion.
Trine came up short on the road, losing 9-0 to Hope.
With the help of Amber Crosby, Trine was able to tally two matches on the day, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Scots.
The Thunder looked weak losing all their matches to Calvin.
Spring Arbor showed no mercy for the Lady Thunder, taking all nine matches from Trine.
Trine took three matches from St. Francis but couldn’t muster up a victory, losing 6-3 to the Cougars.
