Saturday, September 18, 2010 – We the People, The Michiana 9/12 Project 1 day Conference w/ guest speaker Glen Beck.

Michiana 9/12 is hosting Glen Beck Saturday, September 18 at Trine University. The university is providing facilities on a rental basis through its conferences and events program. Therefore event registration and tickets for Glen Beck are not provided through the university.

Educational Camps


The American Legion, Department of Indiana, Hoosier Boys’ State Program
What: Program focused on creating an awareness of the issues facing our government and the impact each decision has on individuals—the importance of the political forces in our daily lives that makes our form of government work; provides young men the opportunity to learn about the political and governmental processes in our democratic society.
When: June 12 – 19

Indiana State Police Youth Career Camp
What: Co-ed career camp gives student an in-depth look at law enforcement, including conducting crime scene investigations, and learning from professionals in the field.
When: July 11 – 16
Where: Trine University, Angola
Ages: grades 9 – 12
Cost: $220

ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp
What: A two-week science, technology, engineering, and math camp for admitted students who meet eligibility requirements.
When: July 11 – 23
Where: Trine University, Angola
Ages: Students entering grades 6 – 8 in Fall 2010
Cost: Free.

Band Summer Camp
What: Trine University’s director of music, Mark Kays, will be directing two band camp sessions, which includes practice on Trine’s beautiful artificial turf football field

National Cheerleading Association/National Dance Alliance
What: The ONLY NCA/NDA team cheerleading and dance camp combo in Indiana

High School Soccer Team Camp
What: Team soccer camp includes practice time and games against other high school teams from the tri-state area; directed by Trine Men’s Varsity Head Coach, Mike Ferrell, and Trine Women’s Varsity Head Coach, Terry Stefankiewicz
When: July 7 – 10 & July 11 – 14 (boys)
July 17 – 20 & July 21 – 24 (girls)

Hoosier Basketball Boys Camp
What:  Boys basketball camp directed by Trine University’s head men’s basketball coach, Rob Harmon

Team Pineapple Boys Volleyball Camp
What: Boys Volleyball camp directed by IPFW’s head VB coach, Arnie Ball, and Lloy Ball, four time Olympian and gold medalist

Day Camps


Lego Summer Camp
This hands-on course exposes your child to basic robotics via LEGO® MINDSTORMS®. This program is a great way to cultivate an interest in technology and science in your young student. By starting out with what is referred to as a programmable brick and adding to it wheels, gears, levers, and pulleys; students will learn how to build simple machines and mechanisms. This is a excellent way for your child to spend part of the summer learning teamwork and problem solving skills through robotics.


B.E.S.T. Camp
What: Study engineering, chemistry and computer-aided design; tour a manufacturing facility
When: June 14 – 18
