In 2012 Zollner Golf Course proudly hosted the NCAA Division III Women's Golf National Championships, has been a three–time host of the National Collegiate Golf Championships, has served as the site for sectional State Open Qualifying and Indiana PGA Junior Age Group Championships. The course, on Trine University′s main campus in Angola, is also home to Trine′s men and women golf teams. Both teams have enjoyed strong success through the years.

The men′s team has won 16 titles in two conferences, 15 state and regional championships, and has twice reached 10th place in NAIA national tournaments. The women′s team was crowned the 1997 NAIA National Champions and placed fourth in 1996, third in 1999, and fifth in 1998 and 2000. Trine athletics became affiliated with NCAA Division III in 2004.

Zollner Golf Course also plays an integral role in one distinct program offered in response to the growing need for professionals in the golf industry. Through the Ketner School of Business, students have access to a specialized degree in golf management. This program integrates key business school courses with golf management coursework and hands–on experience on the golf course.
