Dr. Cervone joined the Trine University Master of Physician Studies program team in 2018 as medical director and assistant professor. He was appointed program director in May 2020. Dr. Cervone has been actively engaged in the education of students throughout his entire career.
Dr. Cervone practiced obstetrics and gynecology for over 30 years at Valley Women’s Health in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, while at the same time serving as a flight surgeon in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Dr. Cervone is now in the Retired Reserve. His service included three combat deployments (to Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan) and multiple National Special Security Events (including the Papal Visit and the DNC National Convention).
Dr. Cervone also served at the National Guard Bureau as the Branch Chief of Domestic Medical Operations and Senior Clinical Advisor to the National Guard Joint Surgeon General. His awards include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
Dr. Cervone credits his success to the unconditional support of his wife, two sons and daughter. His family enjoys outdoor recreational sports and mixed martial arts. Dr. Cervone is an accomplished martial artist with a third degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and is a training instructor for American kickboxing.
