I was born and raised in Indiana. I love our beautiful state. As a child, I remember running around with my mom’s stethoscope around my neck and wanting to listen to everyone’s heart. I grew into wanting to listen to everyone’s heart, literally and emotionally.

I started my college journey at Indiana Purdue University of Fort Wayne playing volleyball and not really knowing what I wanted to pursue as a career. I found an amazing guidance counselor and she led me toward a path in psychosocial medicine. I obtained my BS in child health from Purdue University-West Lafayette, scored an awesome husband, Eric, and became certified as a child life specialist. I worked at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, and we made our home for a few years in Palm Harbor, Florida. Soon, I began to feel like something was missing in my career. I decided I enjoyed the puzzle of diagnosing patients, finding treatments and following them through their incredible journeys. It was then that I started my prerequisites for physician assistant school.

I started my PA adventure back in Fort Wayne with the University of St. Francis, my husband, two dogs and a six-week-old baby girl, Bailey. By the end of PA school I had a 2-year-old and a newborn baby boy, Grant. I don’t recommend doing PA school the way I did, but it all worked out in the end. Right out of PA school I took a job with a clinical geneticist, and spent four years with all the most interesting patients you see in medicine. After that, I moved to a pediatric infectious disease clinic. This was a crazy but extremely rewarding time of my life. I enjoyed the pediatric population and helping parents and caretakers of little ones.

In May 2018 I decided to join Trine University as the clinical coordinator of the physician assistant program and share my love of studying and learning with the PA program. In my free time, my husband and I love to play tennis and enjoy watching our kids play tennis, as well. We love to watch movies, take our dogs to the lake to swim and visit with family and friends.
