The manager is at the heart of the business enterprise. He/she is like the conductor of an orchestra, coordinating and directing each part of the organization to accomplish its goals with efficiency and effectiveness.

To accomplish these tasks, the manager must have highly developed "people" skills, as well as a good understanding of all areas of business.
