The Department of Humanities and Communication of Trine University invites applications for a full-time position (NTT), with a 4-4 load and departmental and university service requirements, beginning Fall 2018.
A PhD in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing, Writing Studies, or Technical Writing is preferred; however, candidates with a PhD in English or communication and experience teaching writing will also be considered.
The successful candidate will demonstrate (1) excellence and innovation in teaching, (2) ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across campus, and (3) passion for advising and mentoring students.
The department is seeking a candidate that will primarily teach courses in our undergraduate writing program, as well as in our English and Communication majors. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching writing in at least one of the following settings: first-year composition, technical writing, basic writing, or new media writing. This is an open specialty position. Applicants with specialties in rhetoric, composition studies, digital humanities, WAC/WID, or literature will be considered.
