The Opportunity: 
The Department of Humanities and Communication of Trine University invites applications for a full-time, position beginning Fall 2018. 

Required education:  
A PhD in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition/Writing, Writing Studies, or Technical Writing is preferred; however, candidates with a PhD in English and experience teaching writing, or who are ABD, will also be considered.
The successful candidate will demonstrate (1) excellence and innovation in teaching, (2) ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across campus, and (3) passion for advising and mentoring students. 

Qualifications:
The department is seeking a candidate for full-time faculty position with a 4-4 teaching load and departmental and university service requirements. The position primarily involves teaching courses in our undergraduate general education program, including first-year composition, academic research writing, and technical communication. Additionally, we are seeking someone who will teach the Advanced Composition course to both English majors and to students from across campus, particularly health sciences and engineering, who are planning to attend graduate school.

Preferred candidates will have experience teaching a variety of writing courses. Expertise in one or more of the following areas, especially as it applies to composition pedagogy, is preferred: theories of composition, research methods, digital humanities, new media writing with an emphasis on digital media production, or writing in the disciplines. Experience in overseeing and implementing initiatives and/or programs is also desirable, but not necessary.

Salary & Benefits:  Full-time, faculty-line salary and benefit schedule.
