Director of Admission - TrineOnline

Fort Wayne, Indiana

The Director of Admission has the direct responsibility for cultivating students, maintaining contact with them, and planning the day-to-day admission and recruitment efforts in their areas.  Annually the Director will prepare a marketing plan highlighting outreach, goals, and new strategies to drive recruitment efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Admission has the responsibility of attracting and recruiting qualified undergraduate and graduate candidates who meet the admission requirements of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies along with the development, implementation, and management of specific recruitment-related programs.

Their primary responsibility is one-to-one contact and recruitment of prospective students in an assigned focus area, from inquiry to enrollment, and may exercise independent discretion and judgement to accomplish these tasks. The Director of Admission assists the candidate in completing the application, acquiring the necessary documents required for admission into the school, and guiding them on costs, financial aid availability and processing.  In addition, upon completion of the application process, and a thorough analysis of the candidate’s credentials, the director makes the final recommendation to admit, deny or extend conditional admission to the candidate.  The Director will need to build both a daily and long-term schedule to appropriately cover their recruitment efforts.

The Director will confer with the A.V.P. to plan, implement and evaluate all programs and efforts, which seek to enroll an academically talented and culturally diverse student body.  Weekly and Monthly reporting on recruitment efforts, action items, and initiatives will be required.

Annually, along with close consultation with the CGPS Academic Director, the Director of Admission is responsible for providing the A.V.P. with a comprehensive marketing plan to recruit new students, which thoroughly analyzes and assesses Trine’s market and concludes with the director’s realistic and “stretch” goal projections. It is from this invaluable exercise that the Director takes ownership of achieving CGPS’s enrollment goals.

The Director will also develop, along with the Academic Director, a regular course of action to retain currently enrolled students, including but not limited to maintaining semi-regular contact to online students and organizing activities to establish a form of appreciation for seated students.

This position may include other duties as assigned.
