OPT Application

The Office of International Services will be offering an OPT application advising session on Tuesday, March 20 at 3 pm on the third floor of Shambaugh Hall.  Please fill out the following information, so we can be prepared for you.  Students who cannot attend the session but would like apply for OPT should fill the form as well.

Students are eligible to apply for OPT 90 days prior to their program end date.

OIS will mail your OPT application for $15 if paid before the workshop, or $20 cash at the workshop.  A tracking number will be issued, and you may use the OIS address for USCIS to send your EAD card.  If you send the OPT application yourself, you will be responsible for taking it to the Post Office.

To pay online, please go to : https://secure.trine.edu/trine/payments/.  Please choose 'Other' as your option, and write out 'OPT postage and handling'.

Using the OIS address will allow you to travel without worrying about where you will be and where USCIS should send your documents.

Once your application is processed, OIS will contact you to come and sign two copies of your I-20s.  If you choose to mail to USCIS, we will give you all documents.  If you choose for OIS to send your OPT application to USCIS, we will give you one updated I-20, and mail your OPT application to USCIS for the fee above.
