Trine names new VP for enrollment
ANGOLA, Ind. – An Indiana native with nearly two decades of experience in higher education has been selected to lead Trine University's admission, financial aid and marketing teams.
Stuart D. Jones, Ph.D., was named vice president for enrollment management and is scheduled to begin his new duties June 3.
Jones had served as vice president for enrollment management at Averett University, Danville, Va., since March 2010. Averett is a private, co-educational, liberal arts college of 2,600 students at 14 campus sites offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
"We are eager to have Stuart join us at Trine," said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president. "His bold, energetic and dynamic leadership style has brought bright and successful students to other institutions and we're certain he will use his experience to build on Trine's enrollment success."
Trine is the fastest-growing private school in Indiana and set an enrollment record last fall with nearly 2,500 students.
As Trine's chief enrollment officer, Jones will oversee the offices of Enrollment Management, Financial Aid and Retention, and the Department of Brand & Integrated Marketing. In addition, Jones will supervise regional and branch center enrollment centers and online recruitment.
"Trine possesses an excellent reputation and a fine record of impressive institutional success," Jones said. "I'm excited and honored to be a part of Trine's team."
Jones holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Northcentral University in Prescott Valley, Ariz., where he studied education with an emphasis in higher education leadership. He holds a Master of Arts in divinity and theology from Christian Theological Seminary, Indianapolis, and a Bachelor of Arts in interpersonal and public communications from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind.
In 2012, Avarett University received the national Noel-Levitz Marketing and Recruitment Excellence Award and Jones was a runner-up for the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) Strategic Enrollment Management Award of Excellence.
