Trine University ready for annual scholarship golf outing

As a descriptive word, "academics" doesn't do much in the way of expressing what learning at Trine is really like. Here, knowledge is lived. Our students and faculty put their knowledge to work in ways that solve real problems facing real communities throughout Indiana, across the region, and around the world. At Trine you'll see that learning is never some static thing. It's what challenges and inspires us all at once.

Registration deadline is Friday, July 25

Enjoy a day of fun, friendship and golf while raising money for scholarships during Trine University's Alumni & Friends 24th Annual Scholarship Golf Outing.

The event is Friday, Aug. 1, at Trine's own Zollner Golf Course.

Cost to enter is $125 to golf in the morning and $150 for those who wish to golf in the afternoon. For early golfers, registration and continental breakfast begins at 6:30 a.m. with shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Registration for the afternoon round begins at noon with shotgun start at 1 p.m. Golfers will play in a foursome.

Registration includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch and dinner, refreshments, range balls, a team photo and an individual gift. To register, visit call 260.665.4834; deadline is July 25.

A variety of sponsorship opportunities, from underwriting dinner to sponsoring a tee, are also available. For more information about sponsorships or to donate a raffle prize, visit or contact Racheal Benner at or 260.665.4834. Individuals may also contact Benner to purchase tickets for a ball drop, with the winner getting half of the money from tickets sold. Individuals do not have to play in the golf outing to participate in the 50/50 ball drop and need not be present to win. Tickets are $5 each.

The annual golf outing benefits the Trine Fund for scholarships, which enables deserving students to earn a degree at Trine.
