Veteran development professional joins Trine University
An Angola resident experienced in fundraising leadership has joined Trine University as a director of development in the Office of Alumni and Development.
Laura M. (Edwards) Macknick will conduct fundraising activities and communicate with alumni and friends, primarily in the northeast Indiana region, to build support for Trine University.
She has spent her career in fundraising, communications and management for nonprofit organizations and schools of higher education. Since December, Macknick has served as executive director of resource development at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast in Fort Wayne. She has also been the director of Indiana University Health Arnett Foundation in Lafayette, senior director of development for the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University Development Office in West Lafayette and director of development for the School of Mechanical Engineering and WBAA Public Radio, each at Purdue.

Macknick earned a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue and is pursuing a Master of Arts from Indiana University, Indianapolis. She also graduated from the Leadership Lafayette Career Academy.
She is a board member with Purdue University College of Liberal Arts Alumni Advisory, and is on the Board of Directors with United Way of Steuben County. She earned the Top Community Young Professional award from Discover Lafayette-West Lafayette in 2008 and the Top 40 Under 40 Young Professional inaugural award from Greater Lafayette Commerce in 2006.
