Selfies, portraiture to be analyzed at Humanities Symposia
Trine University’s Humanities Symposia will begin its fourth week of talks with a discussion about portraiture in the age of selfies at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Wells Theater, Taylor Hall.
Roxanne Kaufman, a lecturer from Spring Arbor University, will explore our culture’s basic understanding of photographic portraiture through stories from her own experience. She will discuss ideas about beauty, ethics, spirituality, immediateness, and tangibility as she takes the audience on a journey through the good, the bad, and the ugly of photographic portraiture today.
The free talks, scheduled each Tuesday through Nov. 8, are open to everyone. Trine students get CHAT credit for attending.
