Sorority to host 'Boo Cancer!' trick-or-treat event at Trine University

Gamma Phi Epsilon, a Trine University sorority, will host “Boo Cancer!”, a family-friendly trick-or-treat event, on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 2-4 p.m. in the football parking lot next to the Fred Zollner Athletic Stadium.

The event will feature trick-or-treating, Halloween-themed activities at tables operated by different Trine student organizations and plenty of food.

All proceeds from “Boo Cancer!” will go to Malachi Carrizales, a toddler from Ligonier who was diagnosed with leukemia in August, to assist with medical bills and other expenses. Gamma Phi is sponsoring Carrizales as part of its efforts to raise awareness about childhood cancer and hopes to involve the community through the “Boo Cancer!” event.

Tickets for “Boo Cancer!” will be available for purchase the day of the event at the parking lot. Prices are $3 per person or $10 per group of four or more. Trine students get in free with their student IDs.

In the event of bad weather, ”Boo Cancer!” will be moved inside the University Center.
