Trine Wind Ensemble, University Choir to perform

FEB. 24 – The Trine University Wind Ensemble and University Choir will perform on campus Sunday.

The Wind Ensemble, directed by Mark Kays, chair of the music department, will perform "Music for Animation," with selections from popular animated titles including "The Prince of Egypt," "Frozen," "Brave,” “Up," "The Incredibles" and "How to Train Your Dragon." Soloist Elyse Buehrer, a senior music major from Angola, will be featured during the performance from “Brave” while the Percussion Ensemble will be featured in the performance from “How to Train Your Dragon.” Adjunct professor Adam Vaughn directs the Percussion Ensemble.

The University Choir, directed by Kristofer Sanchack, Ph.D., and accompanied by Susie Buchs, will sing “Music by Mozart” including selections from Mozart’s famous "Coronation Mass" and the beautiful "Ave Verum Corpus." They will be joined by area vocal soloists Teresa Stachofsky, Justin Barbour and Mark Stachofsky, Trine instructor Ashlee Bickley, Fort Wayne Philharmonic pianist Alexander Klepach and members of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Chorus. Trine University student Evan Warfel, a senior computer engineering major from Waxhaw, N.C., will also be making his conducting debut.

These performances will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 in Ryan Concert Hall, T. Furth Center for Performing Arts, 500 W. Maumee St. Admission is free.
