Student Success and Engagement announces staff changes

Alex and OSheaTrine University has promoted one staff member and added another in its Department of Student Success and Engagement.

Alex Rossmann has been named the university’s director of student leadership.

Rossmann formerly served as director of student activities. She earned her Master of Arts in higher education and student affairs from Ohio State University, where she worked with leadership programming and facilitation in her graduate assistantship. Her mission will be to develop and foster leadership skills through involvement with Trine Student Government, various student organizations, and service opportunities in the Trine community.

Her new office number will be (260) 665-4147.

“Alex brings several years of valuable campus experience and a real talent for organization to the vital role of student leadership and organizations,” said John Milliken, assistant vice president for academic services. “She also will be responsible for coordinating SOAR, which is a key part of our students’ introduction to Trine.”

O’Shea Owens has been hired as director of student activities.

A 2017 Trine graduate, Owens’ activities while an undergraduate included Residence Life, student ambassador and leader of Blue Crew.

“His outgoing personality and passion for his alma mater will serve him well in this new role as he fosters essential social relationships and cultivates community and Trine spirit through various student activities and initiatives,” said Jeremy Howard, director of student engagement.

“O’Shea brings the perspective of a recent graduate to Student Activities coupled with the energy, enthusiasm and school spirit that we all associate with him,” said Milliken. “We know that Trine students will benefit from these exciting changes in our department.”
