Golf outing to raise support for civil engineering department, students
The Reiners Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Trine University will hold its 25th annual golf outing at Zollner Golf Course on Friday, June 15.
The event raises support for laboratory improvements, computer upgrades, student projects, field trips and faculty development. In conjunction with the outing, the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana (APAI) will host its seventh annual Trine Civil Engineering Scholarship fundraiser, which supports the university’s expanded involvement in the asphalt industry and funds scholarships for undergraduate civil engineering students at Trine.
The outing will be held in a four-person scramble format, with registration at Zollner beginning at 10:30 a.m. Lunch is at 11:15 a.m., with a noon start. Dinner and awards, which include first-, second- and third-place teams, longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt, will be at 4:30 p.m.
The entry fee is $130, which includes lunch, green fees, cart and range balls. The fee can be considered a tax-deductible charitable gift to the university, minus meal cost and golfing fee. Trine alumni who graduated within the last five years pay a reduced fee of $75.
Dinner is available for $20, with guests welcome for an additional $25 each.
Hole and other event sponsorships are available to raise additional scholarship funds.
Zollner Golf Course now features a new pro shop, club house, banquet hall, bar and patio as part of the university’s MTI Center. Tees have been elevated for the driving range and the course includes new putting greens.
