Sport Management Capstone class hosts NBA 2K20 Tournament

The Trine University Sport Management Capstone class will host its first-ever NBA 2K20 tournament in collaboration with Trine University Esports.

On Nov. 21 at 5 p.m., 64 players will face off in Trine’s esports arena until a champion is named. The competition is open to anyone.

Registration is available to the first 64 players who sign up at twitter.com/TrineSMClub. Interested players can use their smart phone to scan the QR code on the pinned tweet, which will take them to the registration page. A list of rules also can be found on the Trine SMC Twitter page.

The registration fee is $10, and competitors should bring their own XBox One or PS4 controller.

The winner of the tournament will receive a $50 cash prize. Numerous door prizes, as well as prizes for the runner-up, will be given away as well.

Sponsors and prize donors also are sought for this student initiative. Sponsorships begin at only $50 and include opportunities to present your business in front of the Trine and Angola gaming community. For more information, contact Brandon Podgorski, assistant professor in the Ketner School of Business, at (260) 665-4599 or podgorskib@trine.edu.

This tournament is a fundraiser for the Ketner School of Business and the sport management program. All proceeds assist in covering the costs for student opportunities including career fairs, networking events and class projects.
