Trine celebrates NCAA Division III week

Trine University is proud to join 446 institutions and more than 196,000 student-athletes in celebrating NCAA Division III Week, April 5-11.

The largest NCAA division, with about 40 percent of total membership, Division III provides a well-rounded collegiate experience that balances rigorous academics, competitive athletics and the opportunity to pursue the multitude of other co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities offered on Division III campuses.

Student-athletes are part of an intense, competitive athletics environment and play for the love of the game, without the obligation of an athletics scholarship.

Athletics departments in NCAA Division III offer broad-based programs with a high number and wide range of athletics participation opportunities for both men and women. The division offers 36 national championships annually.

Student-athletes in NCAA Division III report active academic engagement and participation in academic “extras,” such as research with faculty, study abroad opportunities and capstone/senior thesis projects. NCAA Division III student-athletes have a graduation rate approximately 5% higher than the overall student body.

Trine University celebrates the student-athletes on its 27 NCAA Division III teams. We are proud of your many accomplishments on and off the field or court.
