Graduate Admission requirements

Well qualified high school graduates may be admitted directly into a five year BS/ME program. These students will be changed to graduate status after 132 credit hours, at which they must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.8. (GPA will be waived for students who have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination.) Students who do not meet this standard will not be given graduate status and will be awarded the BS degree when all the requiremets are met. Students attaining graduate status will be awarded both the Bachelor of Science in the appropriate engineering field and the Master of Engineering degree when all requirements have been completed.

Students seeking the ME degree only must have a BS degree in the appropriate engineering field or a closely related discipline. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended. Special consideration will be given to those applicants who have passed the FE Exam. Transfer credits from another institution will not normally be allowed and courses used to satisfy the requirements of a bachelor's degree cannot be applied toward the master's degree. Applicants whose native language is not English must have a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based or 213 on the computer-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
