Sarah Brandenburg

Dr. Sarah Brandenburg is an accomplished technology and cybersecurity leader, educator and researcher with extensive experience in data analytics, software development and information security. She currently serves as Senior Vice President of Platform Engineering, Data and Security at a healthcare technology organization, where she leads cross-functional teams responsible for software development, product strategy, data operations and cybersecurity initiatives. Her professional work focuses on building secure, scalable platforms, implementing Zero Trust architectures and advancing data-driven decision making across organizations.

Dr. Brandenburg holds a Doctor of Engineering in Cyber Analytics, a doctorate in cybersecurity, a master’s degree in data analytics and a master’s degree in education. She brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to her teaching by combining real-world technical leadership with applied research and instructional best practices. Her areas of expertise include cybersecurity, data analytics, machine learning, database management and agile software development.

In addition to her leadership role, Dr. Brandenburg is passionate about mentoring students and preparing them for careers in technology and cybersecurity. She has taught courses in data analytics, software development using Python and database systems, and she emphasizes practical, hands-on learning that connects theory to industry application. She is committed to helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills that support long-term career success.

Outside of her professional and academic work, Dr. Brandenburg is a wellness advocate. She enjoys hiking, running, kayaking, golfing and spending time with her husband and children in Arizona.
