I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Trine University. I earned my Ph.D. in mathematics education from Purdue University, a master’s degree in mathematics from Montana State University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with economics minor from University of Cape Coast. I have experience teaching undergraduate mathematics, statistics, engineering and education courses.
What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing students move from simply applying formulas to understanding the relevance of mathematics and how it can be used in real-world contexts. I am also passionate about helping students develop both confidence and a deeper understanding of mathematical ideas.
My scholarly interests include mathematical problem solving, quantitative reasoning, interdisciplinary applications of mathematics in real-world contexts and the connections between mathematics and culture.
I love traveling and experiencing new places, cultures and cuisines. Exploring new restaurants with my husband is one of my favorite ways to discover different foods and flavors. Music is also an important part of my life, and I find great joy in singing at church.
