I am an assistant professor of mathematics and coordinator of actuarial science recruitment & advising. I earned both my bachelor's in mathematics and statistics, as well as my master's in mathematics, from Purdue University. My academic focuses include actuarial science education, combinatorial game theory, and the impact of office hours on students. I chair the department capstone committee and coordinate the Trine/Purdue Data Mine partnership that seeks to bring data science to all students at Trine.

I am originally from Fulton County, Indiana, so I feel at home in the more rural Steuben County. My wife is also at Trine professor, and we live near her parents south of Salem Center. We raise a number of animals on our family farm, including chickens, rabbits and a number of barn cats. We also own a chocolate lab and four indoor cats (a mom and her kittens).

I am a major fan of board games, video games and tabletop role playing games. I love to spend time with friends and family whenever possible and enjoy building community at Trine through my regular Friday lunches with faculty and students. My wife and I are board members at Gaslight Playhouse in Kendallville and love to participate in and attend theater in the region whenever we can. We are big believers in the importance of community, being Catholic and highly active in local 4-H.
