My career began in a halfway house for women facing drug and alcohol challenges, where I advanced from case manager to leading educational support groups. This experience laid the foundation for the rich background in social work and counseling that I bring to my role as Assistant Professor of Psychology.
While completing my undergraduate internship, I worked as an activity assistant at a long-term care facility, where I developed a strong interest in dementia care. This experience led me to my role as Program Coordinator of the secured dementia unit, where I managed activities, supported residents and their families, conducted assessments, and coordinated care.
After earning my master’s degree, I joined Shalom Counseling and Mediation Center in Archbold, Ohio, as a counselor. I have a special interest in grief counseling and consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients through their healing journeys. I currently work in private practice at Pathway to Clarity in Angola, Indiana.
Outside of academia and counseling, I enjoy walking and camping as ways to connect with nature and recharge. Traveling provides valuable opportunities to broaden my perspective, while spending time with family and friends remains a vital source of support and balance. I am married and proud to be the parent of two wonderful children.
