Originally hailing from the greater Boston area in Massachusetts, I completed my undergraduate work in upstate New York at Union College and continued my education at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, earning a master's degree in elementary education. My time in Cambridge was followed up with an additional master's degree in special education with a focus in moderate to severe disabilities from Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont.

Over the course of 12 years as an educator within the public schools, I had a wide variety of teaching experiences, from an upper elementary grades classroom teacher at a rural K-6 elementary school in Vermont to a Social Studies and Language Arts teacher at an urban, magnet middle school in Omaha, Nebraska, with a brief stint as a special educator in between. My courseload primarily focuses on elementary education and special education content and instructional methods, as well as classroom environment and student behavior.

I am an avid sports fan, especially my beloved Boston teams and Trine’s NCAA men’s hockey team, coached by my husband, Alex Todd. When I'm not in the classroom or the hockey rink, I usually enjoy spending time with my two children, Abigail and Teddy, baking treats to share in the Franks School of Education, or working on a home renovation project.
