In 2018, I graduated from Ithaca College with my Master of Science in occupational therapy. My clinical journey began in acute care in Rochester, New York, where I spent three years developing a foundation in complex patient management. Driven by a desire to advance my clinical leadership and evidence-based practice, I earned my Post-Professional Doctorate from Boston University in 2022.

Prior to transitioning full time into academia, I spend three years serving as an adjunct instructor in an OTD program, where I discovered my passion for teaching. During this time, I continued my clinical work in acute care at a local hospital in Fort Wayne, focusing primarily in neurology and trauma patient populations. After recognizing a gap in maternal health, I was instrumental in helping to develop a postpartum OT program at the hospital, focusing on evidence-based recovery for postpartum mothers. My doctoral research and professional interests are deeply rooted in functional cognition, particularly for those recovering from traumatic brain injuries, as well as advancing postpartum care for mothers who have experienced C-sections or traumatic births.

My transition into a full-time academic role was fueled by a sincere passion for impacting the next generation of OT clinicians. I believe that by sharing real-world clinical experiences in the classroom, I can help students bridge the gap between theory and the high-stakes reality of patient care. At Trine University, I am excited to help grow our program through initiatives like our pro bono clinic and by developing student-centered, evidence-based coursework that prepares students to be transformative providers.

When I am not in the classroom or the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Patrick, and our son, Archer. I love being outdoors, golfing and traveling. I also enjoy staying creative through crafting and making memories with my family and friends.
