I am a nurse educator with nearly 30 years of diverse clinical experience spanning emergency, critical care, medical-surgical, telemetry, maternal-newborn, public health and regulatory nursing practice. My teaching is grounded in the AACN Essentials and competency-based education, with an emphasis on clinical judgment, patient safety, professional identity and preparing practice-ready nurses. I strive to create a supportive yet rigorous learning environment where students develop confidence, accountability, critical thinking and compassionate, evidence-based practice.

In my current faculty role, I support pre-licensure nursing students in connecting classroom knowledge to clinical practice through real-time clinical reasoning, reflection, communication and mentorship. My goal is to help develop safe, competent, compassionate nurses prepared to meet the evolving needs of patients, families and healthcare systems.

Outside of nursing education, I have been married to my husband, James, for 31 years. We have three grown sons and three grandsons. I enjoy volunteering in my community and serving through my church, both of which reflect my commitment to service, connection and giving back to others.
