MSU Open Mic NightOpen Mic Night, a CHAT event hosted by the Multicultural Student Organization (MSO) will be conducted at the Fabiani Theatre on Wednesday, September 16th, 2020 from 6-8p.

The aim of MSO’s Open Mic Night is to bring students together and help to discover and showcase various talents, acts, and performances. It is an event that is open to all students, staff, and faculty of Trine University and is known to be successful at drawing a great crowd.

“Open Mic Night is somewhere I can showcase my favorite hobbies or talents outside of sports,” Senior MSO member Kelsy Taylor, “I love writing poems and writing in general. So, I am able to empower people through my words. I participated in my first open mic night last year on campus and won 2nd place! This year I’ll be presenting another poem, but instead of a poem about relationships, I will be writing a poem about Black Lives Matter. I thought this poem would be informative and powerful, especially with all the events that is happening in the world today.”

Kelsey is excited to watch others perform their various talents. Performances include, but are not limited to, poetry, photography, comedy, dancing, music, and many more.

Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners of the event, in their respective categories:

  1ST Place: $200 Wal-Mart Gift Card

2ND Place: $100 Bookstore Gift Card
