Summary:
The Trine University “Sound of Thunder” Marching Band seeks an instructor for the university color guard for the Fall 2025 semester. This position entails instructing the color guard, writing and teaching color guard choreography, and rehearsing the color guard during marching band rehearsals. The successful applicant will have experience in either competitive or non-competitive color guard performances. Winter guard or drum corps experience is helpful, but not required. A background instructing color guards at the collegiate level is preferred.
This person will coordinate with the Music Director to effectively integrate the guard into the marching band. This position will also entail developing the guard’s quality and expanding the number of participants involved. Other duties include maintaining the guard’s inventory as needed. The ability to provide feedback to twirlers is helpful, but not required. Time requirements include weekly rehearsals, home football games, and band camp, though specific schedule requirements will be determined between the Music Director and the applicant.
