Summary

Adjunct faculty has the responsibility for providing online instruction in the RN-BSN and MSN programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating a positive learning environment that prepares students for the complexities of today’s workplace
  • Promote intellectual and personal development through personally focused learning opportunities, preparing students to succeed, lead and serve
  • Perform duties including, but not limited to, the instruction and education of students
  • Support student recruitment and retention efforts
  • Work collegially with administrators and fellow Educators.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and revision of program policies

Required Education

Required:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of three years practice experience
  • Possess an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license
  • Possess a Doctoral degree in nursing (PhD in Nursing, Education, or a Doctorate of Nursing Practice [DNP])
  • Demonstrated experience in nursing education

Preferred:

  • Successful academic experience: a minimum of two years
  • Experience and/or certification in online instruction
  • Nurse Educator certification (CNE)
  • Strong organizational and computer skills

Other:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook; proficiency in Moodle is preferred

Salary

Salary is based upon the number of credit hours taught and the number of students registered for the class being taught.
