Trine University named to 12 lists by U.S. News and World Reports

September 09, 2015

SEPT. 9 – Trine University is ranked among top Midwestern regional colleges in the 2016 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s top colleges. It also appears on 10 other lists for Midwestern regional colleges and two national lists.

“We are proud of our rankings that come as a result of our focus to prepare students to succeed, lead and serve,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president. “With diligence, we will continue our efforts to produce career-ready graduates armed with real-life experience and critical-thinking skills.”

For years, Trine has been named a top regional college in the Midwest. The ranking is based on peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, graduate rate performance, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving rate.

The University’s Allen School of Engineering & Technology is ranked among the Best Undergraduate Engineering Schools at which a master degree is the highest degree offered. The national ranking is based solely on peer assessment ratings from spring 2015.

In addition, Trine was ranked among Midwest regional colleges for:

  •  Graduating students with the least amount of debt;
  •  Being among the best colleges for military veterans;
  •  Awarding the highest average amount of need-based aid;
  •  Ethnic diversity;
  •  Economic diversity;
  •  The percentage of classes with fewer than 20 students;
  •  Freshmen retention rate; and
  •  Most international students.

Trine is also nationally ranked for the most students in fraternities. To see the complete rankings from U.S. News & World Report, visit www.usnews.com/colleges.
