Cameron Crenshaw, right, a senior from St. Paul, Indiana, majoring in mechanical engineering, demonstrates a LEGO robot Tuesday morning in Fawick Hall to students in the Mindstorms Education LEGO Camp at Trine University. The hands-on course exposes students to basic robotics via LEGO Mindstorms. The university has 34 students registered for LEGO Robotics Kids Camps this week and next, with some openings remaining for the morning session of next week’s Mindstorms Green City camp. Michaela Doiron hopes to one day design prosthetics for children or veterans, and the Trine University biomedical engineering major has made two big strides toward that dream.
Trine University’s annual Trine Day, a celebration of the university as well as an opportunity to support its mission, set records for number of donors and funds raised, bringing in more than $160,000 for scholarships, academic and athletic needs, and student organizations.
