Four Trine University students received scholarships from the Northern Indiana chapter of the American Foundry Society at its Nov. 12 meeting in Warsaw.
Zachary Shepard, a senior from Angola, Indiana, majoring in mechanical engineering, Landon Pearson, a senior from Churubusco, Indiana, majoring in mechanical engineering, Sean Rourke Carroll, a senior from Jackson, Michigan, majoring in mechanical engineering, and Kathleen Jutte, a sophomore from Fort Recovery, Ohio, majoring in design engineering technology, each were chosen based on academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in cast metals.
The meeting included the organization’s Scholarship Night, with scholarships presented through the Foundry Education Foundation.
Staff from Education One, Trine University’s charter school authorizer, attended the National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA) Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, from Oct. 27-29.
Members of the public are invited to join Trine University faculty, staff and students in exploring, discussing and playing board and video games during the annual Art of Games event on Nov. 18.
When Trine University’s string of more-than-99%-employment years for its graduates began, most of its current freshman class hadn’t started kindergarten.
