Trine is Fort Wayne’s Best College for third straight year

October 02, 2023

Best CollegeReaders of Fort Wayne Newspapers have voted Trine University the Best College in the Greater Fort Wayne region for the third straight year.

The recognition was announced in Saturday's (Sept. 30) Journal Gazette as part of the newspaper’s annual Readers’ Choice awards. Journal Gazette readers voted for the best in each of 260 categories.

Trine received the most votes of 12 Indiana public and private colleges nominated for the honor.

“There are many fine institutions of higher learning throughout the greater Fort Wayne area,” said Trine University President John Shannon, Ph.D. “To be selected the best for the third straight year speaks volumes about the quality of our academic programs, facilities, faculty, student support services and campus life.”

“Our mission to prepare students to succeed, lead and serve continues to resonate with not only Trine students but with the area businesses and organizations where they go on to work, and the communities where they settle. Our incredible employment outcomes reflect the standard of excellence in our curriculum and practical experiences. We’re grateful to the greater Fort Wayne community for this recognition, and we will work to continue to earn their respect and trust as we expand our programs and facilities to serve this region.”

Trine recently announced its second straight year of more than 50 percent enrollment growth, with more than 13,000 students now enrolled throughout its campuses, education centers and online. The university also has purchased an additional 43 acres of land from Parkview Health in Fort Wayne, adjacent to the 13-acre parcel where its Dr. Earl D. and Melanie N. Brooks College of Health Professions facility is under construction.
