Ana Boman, Spanish language lecturer at Trine University, gave a presentation at the
105th conference of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese
(AATSP).
Boman’s presentation was titled, "El Uso de Herramientas TIC con Aula Inversa en la Enseñanza del Español como Lengua Extranjera (Flipped Classroom Foreign Language Teaching with Technology Tools).”
The conference was held June 26-29 in Salamanca, Spain.
Boman also was introduced as the president for the Indiana Chapter of AATSP during the event.
“I am honored to represent Trine University in this capacity to support and promote Spanish language learning at our academic institution,” she said.
Boman was selected by the AATSP-IN Chapter as 2019 Indiana’s Outstanding Spanish Teacher of the Year in the university category. She also was named the 2019 Indiana Foreign Language Teachers’ Association (IFLTA) for the collegiate division.
AATSP was founded in 1917, and it is the oldest language-specific professional association in the United States, with nearly 10,000 member educators from different levels such as preK-12 through collegiate, including graduate school. According to its website, the association “promotes the study and teaching of the Spanish and Portuguese languages and their corresponding Hispanic, Luso-Brazilian, and other related literatures and cultures at all levels of education.”
